    Be Perfect

As I was praying this morning (12-17-25), the Lord told me to read Matt. 5:48 and ask for understanding and insight concerning being ‘perfect’ in conjunction with seeing myself through His eyes.  It reads: ‘You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.’ (Matthew 5:48 ESV with cross references: ch. 19:21; 1 Cor.

An Open Letter on Repentance

I was recently asked to read this verse in an ongoing conversation about the end times, prophecy, and where we may be at in the prophetic timeline. This is my prayerful response. Please read it in the love in which it is intended!

“You are not to say, ‘It is a conspiracy!’
In regard to all that this people call a conspiracy;
And you are not to fear what they fear, and you shall not tremble.”

Isaiah 8:12 LSB

Thank you for this verse and for caring enough to reach out.  I would like to clear up what appears to be a miscommunication and misunderstanding.

It’s not conspiracy – its fact.  Things are now happening and soon coming on the earth that you are perhaps unaware of.  These are causing many deaths and will cause millions more.  Prophecy is unfolding but there appears to be little awareness that it is happening. We are in a season of great change.

It’s not about fear – it’s preparation in obedience to Christ Jesus.  The church as a whole has fallen asleep and needs to wake up from their slumber (Rom. 13:11; Matt. 25:1-13).  We need to keep watch and prepare our hearts living lives of holiness and righteousness as we call the house of God to repentance (Eph. 4:22-24; 1 Peter 4:17).

I am compelled to speak what God has laid on my heart.  Please receive this in the spirit in which it is given – of love and concern for the people of God and an earnest desire to see the lost saved.  I do not wish this to be divisive or a rebuke and it is given with the deepest respect for leadership under whose authority I sit (1 Thess. 5:12-13).

It’s not about conspiracy and not about living in fear. The things that are happening in the earth and coming upon the earth are very real.  Jesus said these things would happen with greater frequency and intensity but the end is not yet – it is the beginning of birth pains (Matt. 24:6-8).  It is an indication that we are to look up and lift up our heads for our redemption draws near (Luke 21:28).  We are told that when we see all these things, know that He is near, right at the door (Matt. 24:33).  Men’s hearts will fail them for what is coming upon the earth (Luke 21:25-28 KJV).  This is NOT conspiracy – it’s real and it’s happening now!

My trust is in God with the firm belief he will care for his people for we are not appointed to His wrath (1 Thess. 5:9).  I’m seeking to do his will and follow his Word by getting “Jesus to people and people to Jesus” (J D Farag).

It’s about preparing my heart for His soon return, keeping watch as He commanded.

It’s about preparing the hearts of his people so they are not taken unaware by the things coming upon the earth (Luke 21:34 KJV).

It’s about calling all to repentance because the days are evil and the time is short (Eph. 5:15-16; 1 Peter 4:7).

Our country has turned from God and his judgment will fall.  A call to repentance is in order.  It is the responsibility of his people to repent starting individually, then as a church, as a state, and as a nation.  If we humble ourselves and pray and seek his face and turn from our wicked ways God will hear from heaven, forgive our sins and heal our land.  While these promises are for Israel at the dedication of Solomon’s temple, as Christians we are still God’s people.  God said “if his people” will do these things then his promises will follow (see 2 Chron. 7:13-16).

My concern is that there seems to be a lack of awareness or preparation of the times in which we live.  The United States will soon be judged.  Israel, especially Jerusalem, will soon be trampled underfoot (Luke 21:24; Rev. 11:2).  There are things coming on the earth from which there is no escape.  I am not a prophet but the ever increasing signs of which Jesus spoke are happening all around the world for all to see. The Pharisees and religious leaders missed Jesus because they could not interpret the signs of the times (Matt. 16:1-4). I don’t want to do the same.  His return is imminent and our need for repentance is paramount.  Jesus’ message was to Keep Watch because we do not know the day or the hour when He will return (Matt. 25:13).  We are to live with prepared hearts as if He were returning today.

I am asking for all who read this to join us in humbling ourselves, praying, seeking God’s face, and turning from our sin in repentance trusting that God will heal our land.

Other Areas of Concern:

A third of the Bible is prophecy of Christ’s first and second coming yet it is seldom taught.

There is a lack of acknowledgement of world events including impending world war and a coalition of nations coming against Israel that has never formed before but prophesied about in Scripture.

The Trump assassination attempt showing the great need to pray for our leaders was ignored.

Scriptures Used and to be Considered

1 Thessalonians 5:12-22 ESV

12  We ask you, brothers,  to respect those who labor among you and  are over you in the Lord and admonish you, 13  and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work.  Be at peace among yourselves. 14  And we urge you, brothers, admonish  the idle,  encourage the fainthearted,  help the weak,  be patient with them all. 15  See that  no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always  seek to do good to one another and to everyone. 16   Rejoice always, 17   pray without ceasing, 18   give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19   Do not quench the Spirit. 20  Do not despise  prophecies, 21  but  test everything; hold fast what is good. 22  Abstain from every form of evil.

Romans 13:11-14 NIV

11  And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12  The night is nearly over; the day is almost here.  So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13  Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.   14  Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.

Ephesians 4:22-24 NIV

22  You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off   your old self,   which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;   23  to be made new in the attitude of your minds;   24  and to put on   the new self,   created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

1 Peter 4:17 ESV

For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

Matthew 24:5-8 ESV

5  For  many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am  the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. 6  And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you  are not alarmed, for this  must take place, but the end is not yet. 7  For  nation will rise against nation, and  kingdom against kingdom, and there will be  famines and earthquakes in various places. 8  All these are but the beginning of  the birth pains.

Luke 21:28 KJV

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Matthew 24:33 ESV

So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates.

Luke 21:25-28 KJV

25  And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26  Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27  And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28  And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 ESV

1  Now concerning  the times and the seasons, brothers,  you have no need to have anything written to you. 2  For you yourselves are fully aware that  the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3  While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then  sudden destruction will come upon them  as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 4  But you  are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. 5  For you are all  children  of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. 6  So then  let us not sleep, as others do, but let us  keep awake and  be sober. 7  For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk,  are drunk at night. 8  But since we belong to the day, let us be sober,  having put on the breastplate of  faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. 9  For God has not destined us for  wrath, but  to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10   who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. 11  Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

Luke 21:34-36 ESV

34  “But watch yourselves  lest  your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and  cares of this life, and  that day come upon you suddenly  like a trap [unawares – KJV]. 35  For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36  But  stay awake at all times,  praying that you may  have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and  to stand before the Son of Man.

Ephesians 5:15-16 NIV

15  Be very careful, then, how you live  —not as unwise but as wise, 16  making the most of every opportunity,   because the days are evil.

2 Chronicles 7:13-16 ESV

13   When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, 14  if my people who are called by my name  humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15   Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place. 16   For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that my name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time.

Matthew 16:1-4 ESV

1   And the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and  to test him  they asked him to show them  a sign from heaven. 2  He answered them,  “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’ 3  And in the morning, ‘It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.’  You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret  the signs of the times. 4   An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” So  he left them and departed.

Final Thought

While the giving of the Law of Moses to Israel was specifically for them, however the principles set forth there by God apply to all nations who would seek to follow him with all their hearts.  America has been blessed because of this.  America will also be cursed because we have turned away from God as a nationRepentance is required and it starts with those who call him Lord.

Deuteronomy 28

Blessings for Obedience

“And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God. 3 Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. 4 Blessed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock. 5 Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. 6 Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.

7 “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. 8 The Lord will command the blessing on you in your barns and in all that you undertake. And he will bless you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. 9 The Lord will establish you as a people holy to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in his ways. 10 And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you. 11 And the Lord will make you abound in prosperity, in the fruit of your womb and in the fruit of your livestock and in the fruit of your ground, within the land that the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. 12 The Lord will open to you his good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. And you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. 13 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you shall only go up and not down, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, being careful to do them, 14 and if you do not turn aside from any of the words that I command you today, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

Curses for Disobedience

15 “But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord your God or be careful to do all his commandments and his statutes that I command you today, then all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you. 16 Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the field. 17 Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. 18 Cursed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock. 19 Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.

20 “The Lord will send on you curses, confusion, and frustration in all that you undertake to do, until you are destroyed and perish quickly on account of the evil of your deeds, because you have forsaken me. 21 The Lord will make the pestilence stick to you until he has consumed you off the land that you are entering to take possession of it. 22 The Lord will strike you with wasting disease and with fever, inflammation and fiery heat, and with drought and with blight and with mildew. They shall pursue you until you perish. 23 And the heavens over your head shall be bronze, and the earth under you shall be iron. 24 The Lord will make the rain of your land powder. From heaven dust shall come down on you until you are destroyed.

25 “The Lord will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You shall go out one way against them and flee seven ways before them. And you shall be a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth. 26 And your dead body shall be food for all birds of the air and for the beasts of the earth, and there shall be no one to frighten them away. 27 The Lord will strike you with the boils of Egypt, and with tumors and scabs and itch, of which you cannot be healed. 28 The Lord will strike you with madness and blindness and confusion of mind, 29 and you shall grope at noonday, as the blind grope in darkness, and you shall not prosper in your ways. And you shall be only oppressed and robbed continually, and there shall be no one to help you. 30 You shall betroth a wife, but another man shall ravish her. You shall build a house, but you shall not dwell in it. You shall plant a vineyard, but you shall not enjoy its fruit. 31 Your ox shall be slaughtered before your eyes, but you shall not eat any of it. Your donkey shall be seized before your face, but shall not be restored to you. Your sheep shall be given to your enemies, but there shall be no one to help you. 32 Your sons and your daughters shall be given to another people, while your eyes look on and fail with longing for them all day long, but you shall be helpless. 33 A nation that you have not known shall eat up the fruit of your ground and of all your labors, and you shall be only oppressed and crushed continually, 34 so that you are driven mad by the sights that your eyes see. 35 The Lord will strike you on the knees and on the legs with grievous boils of which you cannot be healed, from the sole of your foot to the crown of your head.

36 “The Lord will bring you and your king whom you set over you to a nation that neither you nor your fathers have known. And there you shall serve other gods of wood and stone. 37 And you shall become a horror, a proverb, and a byword among all the peoples where the Lord will lead you away. 38 You shall carry much seed into the field and shall gather in little, for the locust shall consume it. 39 You shall plant vineyards and dress them, but you shall neither drink of the wine nor gather the grapes, for the worm shall eat them. 40 You shall have olive trees throughout all your territory, but you shall not anoint yourself with the oil, for your olives shall drop off. 41 You shall father sons and daughters, but they shall not be yours, for they shall go into captivity. 42 The cricket shall possess all your trees and the fruit of your ground. 43 The sojourner who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower. 44 He shall lend to you, and you shall not lend to him. He shall be the head, and you shall be the tail.

45 “All these curses shall come upon you and pursue you and overtake you till you are destroyed, because you did not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep his commandments and his statutes that he commanded you. 46 They shall be a sign and a wonder against you and your offspring forever. 47 Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joyfulness and gladness of heart, because of the abundance of all things, 48 therefore you shall serve your enemies whom the Lord will send against you, in hunger and thirst, in nakedness, and lacking everything. And he will put a yoke of iron on your neck until he has destroyed you. 49 The Lord will bring a nation against you from far away, from the end of the earth, swooping down like the eagle, a nation whose language you do not understand, 50 a hard-faced nation who shall not respect the old or show mercy to the young. 51 It shall eat the offspring of your cattle and the fruit of your ground, until you are destroyed; it also shall not leave you grain, wine, or oil, the increase of your herds or the young of your flock, until they have caused you to perish.

52 “They shall besiege you in all your towns, until your high and fortified walls, in which you trusted, come down throughout all your land. And they shall besiege you in all your towns throughout all your land, which the Lord your God has given you. 53 And you shall eat the fruit of your womb, the flesh of your sons and daughters, whom the Lord your God has given you, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemies shall distress you. 54 The man who is the most tender and refined among you will begrudge food to his brother, to the wife he embraces, and to the last of the children whom he has left, 55 so that he will not give to any of them any of the flesh of his children whom he is eating, because he has nothing else left, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemy shall distress you in all your towns. 56 The most tender and refined woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground because she is so delicate and tender, will begrudge to the husband she embraces, to her son and to her daughter, 57 her afterbirth that comes out from between her feet and her children whom she bears, because lacking everything she will eat them secretly, in the siege and in the distress with which your enemy shall distress you in your towns.

58 “If you are not careful to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and awesome name, the Lord your God, 59 then the Lord will bring on you and your offspring extraordinary afflictions, afflictions severe and lasting, and sicknesses grievous and lasting. 60 And he will bring upon you again all the diseases of Egypt, of which you were afraid, and they shall cling to you. 61 Every sickness also and every affliction that is not recorded in the book of this law, the Lord will bring upon you, until you are destroyed. 62 Whereas you were as numerous as the stars of heaven, you shall be left few in number, because you did not obey the voice of the Lord your God. 63 And as the Lord took delight in doing you good and multiplying you, so the Lord will take delight in bringing ruin upon you and destroying you. And you shall be plucked off the land that you are entering to take possession of it. 64 “And the Lord will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other, and there you shall serve other gods of wood and stone, which neither you nor your fathers have known. 65 And among these nations you shall find no respite, and there shall be no resting place for the sole of your foot, but the Lord will give you there a trembling heart and failing eyes and a languishing soul. 66 Your life shall hang in doubt before you. Night and day you shall be in dread and have no assurance of your life. 67 In the morning you shall say, ‘If only it were evening!’ and at evening you shall say, ‘If only it were morning!’ because of the dread that your heart shall feel, and the sights that your eyes shall see. 68 And the Lord will bring you back in ships to Egypt, a journey that I promised that you should never make again; and there you shall offer yourselves for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but there will be no buyer.”
