As I came to meet with the Lord for my Quiet Time this morning, He was speaking to my heart before I even came to open the word. He said to write down what I learn today because He is adding to the message He has called me to teach, preach, and share.  The addition is to teach “unity among the believers.”  The message He has told me to speak is:

“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near. His return is imminent. Set aside doctrinal differences and unite under the wisdom that comes down from above.”

Several weeks ago the Lord said that he would “take away my knowledge” to deal with pride.  I was told to not write this down at that time.  He has given me permission to write it out now.  When he first told me he would take away my knowledge I was freaked out because I had worked a lifetime to gain the knowledge I had.  He reminded me weeks later of the vision of the Golden Tree and Field I had in 1982 as a new believer when I was fervently praying for knowledge and understanding.  I was shown by the Spirit a golden field with a large golden tree where the sky was a golden hue.   He had pass before me all the knowledge I was asking for. There was a rush of sounds and words in languages I didn’t understand.  Every once in a while a few words I could understand were heard and were gone.  The knowledge went by almost like it was in packets of information that could be seen, heard, felt, and touched but too rapidly to grasp hold of or to comprehend.  I was so overwhelmed that I asked God to relent and stop. He told me “You are not ready” and I was returned to my bed.  He showed me today that the very knowledge I had been asking for then, but not yet ready for, He was now beginning to manifest in me.  All pride, jealousy, and selfish ambition must be replaced with humility, submission, and meekness so that he can more fully use me to carry His word to the church and to the lost.

Over the following weeks He showed me that much of the knowledge I now had was from the world based on false teachings, misconceptions on my part, and from others who sincerely taught their misunderstanding of the word of God.  Let scripture interpret scripture and do not take speculation as doctrine.  Much of my “knowledge” goes back to doctrinal dogma (core denominational beliefs governing biblical interpretation of faith and its outworking in daily life) that may or may not be scripturally based and understood.  Doctrine is necessary but needs to be based solely on the word of God, not politically motivated or based on human reasoning.  Knowledge, understanding, and wisdom must be based on scripture and spiritually understood by the witness of the Holy Spirit (*1 Cor. 2:6-16).  This is “not new knowledge being revealed” but the knowledge given by God from the beginning that we must return to – scripturally based, spiritually understood, witnessed to by the Holy Spirit.  This is not ecumenicalism or a new apostolic reformation but a return to the God of the Word as given by Him to unite under “the wisdom that comes down from above” (**James 3:13-18).  I was reminded that the Pharisees had great knowledge of the scriptures yet missed the coming of Christ Jesus because He did not fit their understanding of doctrine and traditions.  We ought not make the same fatal mistake.

The church must unite to preach the gospel, to bring the lost to salvation, revival through repentance for those who have fallen asleep, and a halt to the denominational divisiveness that hinders them all!

We must all come together and submit in humility to Christ our Head as He purifies the church, His bride, as Paul said to the Ephesians, “…as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish” (Eph. 5:25b-27).

So, to all who will listen:

“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.  His return is imminent.  Set aside doctrinal differences and unite under the wisdom that comes down from above.”

Father, as you have taught us to pray, Your kingdom come, Your will be done.  Enable us and use us as a unified body to preach the gospel to the lost, encourage the broken hearted, awaken those who have fallen asleep, and make disciples to serve You that in all of this You may be glorified.  In Jesus’ name I pray.  Amen.
